Man attacked near Papineau Metro station in Montreal

A man was attacked near the Papineau metro station on Thursday evening in the Ville-Marie borough.

According to Montreal police (SPVM), they received a call to 911 around 7:15 p.m. about the incident near the intersection of Cartier and Sainte-Catherine Street.

When officers arrived, they found a 48-year-old man injured by a sharp object. He was still conscious before being transported to hospital.

His life is not considered to be in danger.

A security perimeter was set up to allow investigators and forensic technicians to analyze the scene. Officers will also review surveillance footage of the nearby area.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
