Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel closed this weekend

Motorists can expect to see Highway 25 towards Montreal, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel, completely closed this weekend.
Highway 25 southbound, including the tunnel, will be closed at night only from Friday into Saturday, and Saturday into Sunday.
According to the Transport Ministry, these closures are required to install a work area in middle of the highway, between the Souligny interchange and Sherbrooke Street to build the central median.
Also, maintenance and inspection work will be carried out on the tunnel.
As of Nov. 18, traffic on Highway 25 northbound will redirected to the new concrete slabs, between the Souligny interchange and Sherbrooke Street.
The entrance to Highway 25 northbound from Notre-Dame Street will be closed until the end of 2025 and a detour will be put in place at the temporary entrance located north of Hochelaga Street.
Highway 25 towards Montreal
There will be a complete closure of Highway 25 towards Montreal (including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel) between Exit 90 and the entrance from Sherbrooke Street east from Friday at 11 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m.
The entrances to this section, including the access ramps from Route 132, will be closed 30 minutes before the complete closure of the highway.
Access to Charron Island from Highway 25 heading north will remain open.
Highway 25 towards the South Shore
Highway 25 towards the South Shore (including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel) will be closed between Exit 5 and the entrance from Charron Island from Friday at 11 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m. and from Saturday at 11 p.m. to Sunday at 9 a.m.
The entrances to this section will be closed 30 minutes before the complete closure of the Highway.
Also, Souligny Ave. eastbound, between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand Street will be closed 30 minutes prior to the highway closure.
