Lucien-L’Allier train station to reopen to exo commuter lines next month
Good news for commuters using exo trains: Lucien-L’Allier station will reopen next month and trains on three lines will once again stop downtown.
On Friday, Quebec Transport Minister Geneviève Guilbault helped make the announcement as she toured the station, which has been closed for renovations since April 1.
“The work is going faster than expected, so the people who are using the three lines who are coming here from Saint-Jérôme, Candiac and Vaudreuil-Hudson, will have the possibility to take the train again,” she said.

Trains will stop once again at Lucien-L’Allier station as of Dec. 21.
“It was expected to be able to use them again only at spring in 2025, so every user of any of those three lines will be able to use it again in December,” Guilbault added.
“The return of trains to Lucien-L’Allier station marks an important milestone in this project,” said Sylvain Yelle, exo’s general manager. “Our mission is to better serve users by offering them direct access to downtown Montreal via modern, safe infrastructure that is designed to last. Our goal is clear: to preserve and optimize our train network to make it a relevant and essential mobility option.”
Guilbault says another piece of good news is that the project is coming in on budget.
“It will cost not more than the cost that we had evaluated, so $69 million,” she said.

Some of the renovations include the addition of a wooden canopy, boarding platforms adjusted for better accessibility and new emergency exits. Work continues on tiling the platforms and updating signage.
“We are really giving a chance to attracting more people who will leave their car and take the train instead,” Guilbault said.
Exo says the last renovation of the Lucien-L’Allier station dates back almost 50 years, in preparation for the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games.
