Montreal metro times to be extended on New Year’s Eve

Montrealers bringing in 2025 away from home will be able to catch a train later than normal on New Year’s Eve.

The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) says green, orange, and yellow metro lines will be running on extended schedules to start the new year.

The extension has been made to allow all those attending the fireworks display in the Old Port or celebrating elsewhere, to still have a safe way home at the end of the night.

The last green line metro will depart from Angrignon heading to Honoré-Beaugrand at 2:42 a.m. on Jan. 1 and will arrive at Honoré-Beaugrand at 3:17 a.m. Heading the other direction, the last train will depart from Honoré-Beaugrand heading for Angrignon at 2:45 a.m. and will arrive at Angrignon at 3:20 a.m.

The last orange train will depart from Côte-Vertu heading to Montmorency at 2:37 a.m. on Jan. 1 and will arrive at Montmorency at 3:22 a.m. Heading the other direction, the last train will depart from Montmorency heading for Côte-Vertu at 2:40 a.m. and will arrive at Côte-Vertu at 3:25 a.m.

The last yellow train will depart from Longueuil-Université-de-Sherbrooke heading to Berri-UQAM at 2:50 a.m. on Jan. 1 and will arrive at Berri-UQAM at 3 a.m. Heading the other direction, the last train will depart from Berri-UQAM heading for Longueuil-Université-de-Sherbrooke at 3 a.m. and will arrive at Longueuil-Université-de-Sherbrooke at 3:06 a.m.

The STM says blue train schedules will remain the same.

Additionally, after all trains are done running for the night, Montrealers will still be able to use transit via all-night buses.
