Ville-Marie Expressway partially closed to traffic in both directions starting Wednesday
The Transport Ministry announced that the Ville-Marie Expressway will be be partially closed to traffic in both directions, in the Ville-Marie and Viger tunnels area, as of Dec. 4.
The long-term partial closure is required in order to continue the repair of the Saint-Urbain Street overpass, they said.
From 10 p.m. on Dec. 3 until spring 2025 road users are set to encounter the closure of one lane on the Ville-Marie Expressway (Route 136) westbound between Panet Street and Saint-Urbain Street (including the Viger Tunnel).

As well as the closure of a second lane on a short section of Route 136 westbound between Saint-Laurent Boulevard and Saint-Urbain Street.
The Transport Ministry added that from 10 p.m. on Dec. 4 until spring 2025 Montrealers will also experience:
- Closure of one lane on the Ville-Marie Expressway eastbound between Exit No. 4 – Pont Victoria/Boul. R.-Bourassa/Rue de la Montagne and the Saint-Laurent Boulevard area (including the Ville-Marie Tunnel).
- Closure of a second lane on a short section of the Ville-Marie Expressway eastbound between the Robert-Bourassa Boulevard entrance and the Saint-Laurent Boulevard area.
- Two lanes will be open on Route 136 in both directions.
