Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel closed overnight this weekend

Motorists can expect to see a complete closure of Highway 25 in both directions, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel this weekend.

The Transport Ministry said this closure is required to carry out maintenance work and to fix electrical and communication systems related to the tunnel.

Highway 25 towards the South Shore

Highway 25 towards the South Shore (including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel) will be completely closed between Exit 5 and the entrance from Charron Island from Saturday at 11 p.m. until 9 a.m. on Sunday.

The entrances to this section will be closed 30 minutes before the complete closure of the highway.

Souligny Ave. eastbound, between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand Street will also close 30 minutes before the closure.

Highway 25 towards Montreal

Highway 25 towards Montreal (including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel) between Exit 90 and the entrance from Sherbrooke Street East will be completely closed from Saturday at 11 p.m. until 9 a.m. on Sunday.

The entrances to this section will be closed 30 minutes before the complete closure of the highway.
