P.K. Subban set to pick up donations for the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation

By News Staff

Even as the federal labour minister decided on Friday to intervene in the Canada Post strike, it isn’t soon enough for many charities that depend on donations through the mail during the holiday season.

Former Montreal Canadiens P.K. Subban is taking matters into his own hands. He’ll visit some of The Montreal Children’s Foundation supporters and donors to pick up cheques on Friday afternoon.

According to a press release, the mailed-in donations represent 40 per cent of the donations totalling $500,000 in the annual P.K. Match Holiday Campaign.

The gifts and donations are meant to help sick children and their families throughout the holidays before heading into the new year.

The former Habs player and his foundation will also be matching every donation up to $250,000 until Dec. 31.

Subban, along with members from The Children’s Hospital will be at the Dormez-Vous in Montreal, where he will be accepting donations before heading out to several donors’ homes. He also plans to visit several families at the Children’s hospital in Montreal.

Dormez-Vous will be accepting cheques and donations until the end of the month, and those who wish to get involved can do so online (hyperlink), call 514-934-4846 or toll-free at 1-866-934-4846, or they can drop off their cheques at one of hospitals two offices: 5002, de Maisonneuve Blvd. or next to the main entrance across from the Sushi Shop.

Both offices are open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
