3 charged following armed assault in Montreal

Three men were arrested in Montreal after two people were injured in an armed assault on Sunday morning. It happened around 3:30 a.m. at the corner of René-Lévesque Blvd. and Montcalm Street.

A 26-year-old man was injured in the lower body by a sharp object and the second victim, a 35-year-old woman, sustained blunt force injuries to the upper body, according to the Montreal police.

Both were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Two 18-year-olds and one 22-year-old were arrested near the scene of the altercation.

The canine unit was called in to help with the investigation and the security perimeter has since been taken down.
