69-year-old woman dead after being trapped under a bus in Montreal North

A 69-year-old woman is dead after she was “trapped” under a bus in the Montreal North borough of Montreal, on Tuesday.

According to the spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM), Mariane Allaire-Morin, around 4:20 p.m., a call was received by emergency services regarding a collision between a pedestrian and a bus.

The accident reportedly took place at the intersection of Henri-Bourassa and Lacordaire boulevards. 

The victim was crossing Henri-Bourassa Boulevard on foot heading north at the same time as the bus was travelling on the boulevard heading west. She was then transported to a hospital. 

“The victim (…) found herself trapped under the bus and suffered serious injuries,” said the SPVM spokesperson. 

The scene is currently being protected and investigators, assisted by a reconstructionist, are trying to shed light on the circumstances of the accident.
