City of Montreal modifies schedule for certain services for holidays
The City of Montreal has modified its schedule for certain services for the holiday season.
Permit Counters and Online Services
The Accès Montréal Offices (BAM) and permit counters will be closed from December 24 to January 2. Montreal provides citizens with online services.

It is possible to complete your procedures virtually.
Applications submitted during the holiday will be accepted, but processed starting January 3, 2025.
Collections
The various collections (household garbage, residential waste from construction, renovation and demolition materials, bulky items, recyclable materials and food waste) are maintained everywhere, with the exception of certain boroughs where they will be brought forward or postponed.

The collection of trees is distinct from and complementary to other waste collections.
Natural Christmas trees must be stripped of their decorations and placed at the curb without obstructing the sidewalk in front of the residence before 7 a.m. on the morning of the collection.
Trees should not be wrapped in any material.

Ecocentres

The ecocentres will be closed from December 24 to January 1 inclusively.
The ecocentres will reopen their doors as of January 2 according to the normal winter schedule (Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
Sports facilities
The majority of sports facilities remain open during the holiday season.
The schedule may vary depending on the borough.

Libraries and Cultural Centres
Cultural facilities have a variable schedule depending on the borough.

MEM – Montreal Memory Centre
The MEM – Montreal Memory Centre will be open throughout the holiday season, with the exception of December 24, 25 and 31, as well as January 1.
Space for Life
The Biodôme, the Biosphere, the Insectarium, the Botanical Garden (except for the outdoor gardens) and the Planetarium are closed on December 24 and 25.

The Space for Life museums will open at 1 p.m. on January 1.

Municipal Court
Only appearances of inmates are maintained at the building at 775 Gosford Street.
Motions for a stay of execution: no filing between December 23 and January 3 inclusively.

For the holiday season, the call centre and the municipal court headquarters are closed on December 24, 25, 26, 27, 30, 31 and January 1 and 2 inclusively.
Here is the schedule for the customer service counters located in the following locations:
- The service counter at the municipal court headquarters located at 775 Gosford Street will be closed from December 24 to January 2 inclusive, except for inmate appearances;
- The service counter at the municipal court headquarters located at 303 rue Notre-Dame Est, will be closed from December 24 to 26, 2024, then from December 31, 2024 to January 2, 2025;
- East of the island counter: closed on December 24, 25, 26, 31 and January 1 and 2 inclusive;
- Comptoir du Nord de l’île: closed on December 24, 25, 26, 31 and January 1 and 2 inclusive;
- Comptoir du Sud de l’île: closed on December 24, 25, 26, 31 and January 1 and 2 inclusive.
