Vehicle set on fire in Saint-Laurent

A vehicle was targeted by an arson attack in Saint-Laurent on Monday.

Emergency services were called around 2:45 a.m. about a fire on Jean-Brouillet Ave., near Keller Blvd.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control, but the car is a total loss.

“After the fire was extinguished, checks were made with various witnesses and at least one suspect was seen leaving the scene quickly before the start of the fire, which suggests arson,” said SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.

There were no reported injuries.

No arrests have been made and the vehicle was towed for examination.

The file has been transferred to the Montreal police arson squad.
