As 2024 is coming to an end, Loto-Québec says Quebecers won a total of $1.7 billion in prize money, and 100 people become millionaires this year.

That’s 30 more winners than last year.

The largest jackpots were paid out in September, after a Quebec retiree won half the $80 million Lotto Max jackpot in the Outaouais region, and a Revenu Québec employee from the Capitale-Nationale area won $50 million playing Lotto 6/49.

In October, six strangers split a $32 million jackpot with a Formule groupe Lotto 6/49 ticket that was purchased in Montérégie.

“A total of 1.7 billion dollars in prizes, including 121 prizes of $1 million or more, have already been awarded to lottery players this year. Thanks to this, families from all over Quebec are making their most cherished dreams come true,” said Isabelle Jean, executive vice-president, and chief operating officer of Lottery Games at Loto-Québec.

In 2023, lottery winners received nearly $1.6 billion in prizes.
