Montreal police investigate: vehicles targeted by arson

Two vehicles were torched on Thursday night in Montreal.

Emergency services received calls around 9:30 p.m. about the first fire behind an industrial building on Duchesne Street, near Saint-Charles Street, in the borough of Saint-Laurent.

When Montreal police (SPVM) officers arrived on the scene, firefighters already had the blaze under control.

Police suspect it was arson as an incendiary object was found at the scene.

The second fire was reported around midnight in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.

A second vehicle was found on fire on Deacon Road, near Saint-Régis Blvd.

Both vehicles are considered a total loss.

There were no reported injuries, and no arrests have been made.

Both cases have been transferred to the SPVM arson squad.
