Montreal police are investigating after a vehicle crashed into a jewelry store in the Parc-Extension district of Montreal.
Saturday around 6:30 PM, police responded to calls about a burglary alarm on rue de Liège, near avenue Champagneur.
Social media video captured the incident and when officers arrived, the vehicle was stuck in the window of the store.
According to the SPVM, “the occupant(s)” of the suspect vehicle intentionally committed this act. Police say the suspects stole items and fled before police arrived.
A spokesperson for the SPVM says that a 27-year-old shopkeeper was injured while trying to intervene with the suspects. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A perimeter was set up to protect the scene so investigators and forensic technicians could analyze the situation and determine the exact circumstances of the event.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
