Woman, 30, injured by sharp object in Montreal hotel room

A 30-year-old woman was injured in a hotel room in downtown Montreal on Thursday night.

Montreal police (SPVM) were called around 11 p.m. to a hotel on Sainte-Catherine Street West, near Clark Street where the victim was found injured in the lower body by a sharp object.

The SPVM said that she was then taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

They added that there was a conflict that escalated between the victim and the suspect who attacked her and fled the scene before police arrived — their relationship remains unknown.

Investigators and the canine unit were analyzing the scene early Friday morning.

No arrests have been made so far.
