2 men stabbed in a Montreal apartment: SPVM

Two men were stabbed in a double armed attack Wednesday morning in an apartment building in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest borough – and police are looking for two suspects.

According to authorities, 911 calls came in around 11:30 a.m. after a gunshot was heard in the building, located on Saint-Philippe Street, near Langevin Street – in St-Henri.

Montreal police (SPVM) found a 41-year-old victim conscious, but injured by a sharp object.

A second 911 call came in at 11:40 a.m. about a 44-year-old man found injured nearby the first scene, in depanneur on Saint-Ferdinand Street, close to Sainte-Antoine.

Both men were brought to hospital with serious injuries, but they are said to be out of danger.

“Police are still looking for two suspects involved in this armed assault,” said Véronique Dubuc, Montreal police spokesperson.

A security perimeter has been setup and investigators were on location at both scenes. The K9 unit has also been called in to help.

Since the beginning of the week, four men have been stabbed in three separate incidents in Montreal. One of them, attacked in the parking lot of a Tim Hortons in the borough of Saint-Laurent. He is said to still be in critical condition in hospital.
