By News Staff

Two people are injured after their vehicle was hit by a suspected stolen vehicle overnight Wednesday in Rosemont.

The 30-year-old driver was arrested as he attempted to flee.

Montreal police (SPVM) patrol officers were in the area of Bélanger Street and 30th Avenue around 2:30 a.m. when they noticed a vehicle they say “may have been linked to criminal events.”

When the driver saw the police, he sped off before colliding with another vehicle. He then fled on foot before being intercepted by police.

The two people in the other vehicle, in their 40s, suffered minor injuries to their upper bodies. One was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

An investigation is ongoing.
