Flurries coming down in Montreal, snow removal operation starts Tuesday

Periods of snow are expected for Montreal this week — similar to what the city woke up to on Monday morning, with snowflakes falling from the sky.

About 2 centimeters of snow is expected to cover Montreal today, according to Environment Canada — with a high of -2 degrees, feeling more like -8 with the wind chill.

The periods of snow are set to continue in the evening and into Tuesday.

The weather agency forecasting another 2cm for tomorrow — with winds of 20 km/h gusting to 40. Temperature steady near -3.

This – as Montreal launches it’s second snow removal operation of the season tomorrow morning – in all boroughs.

Nearly 3,000 workers and 2,500 snow removal vehicles will be involved in loading operations.

Come Wednesday, a little break from the white stuff — a mix of sun and cloud expected, with a high of -6.

The snowflakes then expected to make their return on Thursday — Environment Canada forecasting clouds with 60 per cent chance of flurries and a high of -4 degrees.

To end the work week, Montrealers will see those periods of snow again on Friday — with a high of -2.

Same for Saturday with the snow, but the mercury rising slightly to a high of -1 degrees.

A chillier Sunday though, with -9 degrees and a break from the snowfall — the weather agency forecasting a mix of sun and cloud.
