The Sûreté du Québec is asking the public for assistance in identifying a suspect in Wednesday’s fatal shooting in Saint-Charles-Borromée.
A 37-year-old man was shot and killed while sitting inside a parked SUV in a residential parking lot on Rang Double, with his young child in the back seat.
A woman who heard the child – made the gruesome discovery and alerted emergency services shortly after 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
“As for the child, who was sitting in the back seat, he was not injured. He is a child under the age of four, who has been taken in charge by the authorities,” said Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Sgt. Eloïse Cossette.
The victim is a local resident, whose identity has not been released.
The suspect is described as 20 to 50-year-old man, five-foot-10, weighing 178 lbs. with an average build.

He was dressed in black pants, a blue coat, and a black neck gaiter that concealed his face. He wore a dark-coloured (blue/black) bike helmet and a camouflage-patterned backpack. He was seen using a black “HIBOY” fatbike with oversized tires and front lights.
The investigation is ongoing.
