Montreal Police (SPVM) arrested four suspects in connection with a series of violent events targeting a property in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
An extortion attempt is believed to be behind these events that occurred in recent weeks.
The SPVM said that the four suspects arrested are men aged 36 to 42.
“They were arrested on Wednesday as part of an investigation led by the Multi-Sector Firearms Team (EMAF-Ouest), which is supported by Neighbourhood Police Station 4 (Dollard-des-Ormeaux),” police said in a press release. “The suspects, who allegedly acted as instigators, appeared yesterday at the Montreal courthouse to face charges of extortion and threats.”
During the night of Jan. 13, 2025, gunshots targeted a house on Louis-Riel Street in Montreal’s Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
A few weeks earlier, on Dec.15, 2024, windows of the same property were smashed.
And on Dec. 1, 2024, a vehicle was set on fire in the driveway of the residence.
There were no injuries during these events.
The SPVM said that an investigation is ongoing in order to identify and arrest the individual(s) who may have directly participated in the criminal acts committed against this property.
Adding that anyone with information is encouraged to contact 911 or their neighbourhood police station.
