Weekend closures: Highway 25 for Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel maintenance

Montreal drivers will see more road closures on Highway 25 and the Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel over the weekend.

Transport Quebec says that there will be complete overnight closures of Highway 25 in both directions between Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.

The closure will be to allow for maintenance work to be done on the Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel.

Road closures will include Highway 25 toward the South Shore, between exit 4 — Montréal (downtown) / J.-Cartier Bridge — and the entrance from Île Charron.

Additionally, Highway 25 toward Montreal will be closed between exit 90 –– Highway 20 West, Route 132, La Prairie / USA, Varennes, P.-E.-Trudeau Airport — and the entrance from Sherbrooke Street East.

The road closures will take place from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. between Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, with the entrances to Highway 25 beginning to be closed 30 minutes prior.
