The Quebec Ministry of Transport confirmed that a metal plate had shifted at the entrance of the tunnel and they had to perform unplanned work because of it.
The closure began at around 4 a.m. and the span was reopened at around 6:15 a.m.
The consequences of the closure was felt though – as traffic was noticeably heavier amid morning rush hour.
