Second anniversary of Feb. 8 fatal bus crash at Laval daycare, killing two children

Feb. 8 marks the second anniversary of the fatal bus crash into a Laval daycare in 2023 that killed two children.

It happened at the Garderie Éducative Sainte-Rose in Laval, north of Montreal, early in the morning on Feb. 8, 2023.

The victims were aged five and four and their identities cannot be revealed as the case is before the courts. Six other children were injured.

The tragedy sent shockwaves across Quebec and the tight-knit community of Sainte-Rose.

Pierre Ny St-Amand faces nine charges, including two of first-degree murder and others of attempted murder and aggravated assault.

Five weeks have been scheduled for the trial, which is scheduled to take place from April 7 to May 9, 2025.
