Vehicle destroyed by fire in Montreal

By The Canadian Press

A vehicle is considered a “total loss” after being engulfed in flames late Tuesday evening in Montreal.

Emergency services responded around 11 p.m. to Jarry Street, near Claveau Street, in the Anjou borough, where a parked vehicle was on fire.

No one was injured and no damage to property was noted during the event.

The fire was brought under control by firefighters, but the vehicle is a “total loss,” according to the Montreal Police (SPVM).

At the scene, the police did not find any incendiary objects, but due to the nature of the event, an investigation was nevertheless launched.

“The burned car was towed so that an expert assessment could be carried out and the investigation is ongoing,” said officer Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the SPVM.
