Montreal-area schools closed Monday amid storm, second snow day in less than a week

With 30 centimetres of snow already having fallen on Montreal by Sunday afternoon – the second major snowstorm of the season — school boards started to announce closures for Monday. This is the second snow day in less than a week – after almost all were closed on Thursday.
The following school boards and service centres will be closed:
- English Montreal School Board (EMSB)
- New Frontiers School Board
- Riverside School Board (all schools and centres – including the five ACCESS Centres and the administrative center – closed)
- Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board (all schools, centres, head office, daycare services closed – administrative services offered remotely)
- Centre de services scolaire de Laval
- Centre de service scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys
- Centre de services scolaire Marie-Victorin
- Centre de services scolaire de Montréal (CSSDM)
- Centre de services scolaire des Patriotes
- Centre de services scolaire de la Pointe-de-l’Île
A note that the Lester B. Pearson School Board (LBPSB) was already scheduled for a professional development day Feb. 17 – and students already did not have classes scheduled. However, due to the weather, the LBPSB has cancelled all elementary daycare services for Monday. Professional learning activities planned for employees have been moved online.
McGill University posting to their social media accounts: “All in-person classes scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, Feb. 17, are requested to shift online whenever possible. All in-person assignments, tests and exams will be postponed and rescheduled as necessary.”
The following schools will be closed:
- Kells Academy’s three campuses will be closed (Montreal)
- Peter Hall school (Ouimet and Côte-Vertu campuses in Montreal)
- The Study (Montreal)
- Académie Louis-Pasteur (Montreal)
- Collège Citoyen (Laval)
- Collège d’Anjou (Anjou)
- Collège Durocher Saint-Lambert (Saint-Lambert)
- Collège Français Longueuil/annexe secondaire (Longueuil)
- Collège Français Secondaire Montréal (Montreal)
- Collège Héritage de Châteauguay inc. (Châteauguay)
- Collège Letendre (Laval)
- Collège Mont-Saint-Louis (Montreal)
- Collège Mont-Royal (Montreal)
- Collège Stanislas (Outremont)
- Collège Ste-Marcelline (Montreal)
- École Lucien-Guilbault (Montreal)
- École bilingue Notre-Dame de Sion (Saint-Laurent)
