Montreal-area schools closed Monday amid storm, second snow day in less than a week

With 30 centimetres of snow already having fallen on Montreal by Sunday afternoon – the second major snowstorm of the season — school boards started to announce closures for Monday. This is the second snow day in less than a week – after almost all were closed on Thursday.

The following school boards and service centres will be closed:

A note that the Lester B. Pearson School Board (LBPSB) was already scheduled for a professional development day Feb. 17 – and students already did not have classes scheduled. However, due to the weather, the LBPSB has cancelled all elementary daycare services for Monday. Professional learning activities planned for employees have been moved online.

McGill University posting to their social media accounts: “All in-person classes scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, Feb. 17, are requested to shift online whenever possible. All in-person assignments, tests and exams will be postponed and rescheduled as necessary.”
