Montreal police looking for possible sexual assault victims

Montreal police (SPVM) are looking for any potential victims who may have been sexually assaulted by Michael Elahie.

The 40-year-old man was arrested on Feb. 12 and faces multiple charges, including sexual assault, sexual interference and possession, distribution and production of child pornography against several minor victims.

The events of which he is accused allegedly took place in various sports associations and high schools in Montreal.

The investigation revealed that in recent years, the suspect has worked for various sports associations, day camps, community centres and organizations. He has also coached basketball, soccer, hockey and weightlifting teams for boys and teenagers.

Police say Elahie took advantage of his position of authority and tried to establish a bond of trust with his victims. It was during private training with them that he allegedly committed acts of a sexual nature.

The SPVM’s sexual assault investigation team has strong reason to believe that Elahie could have had other victims.

Elahie has brown eyes, is 1.73 m tall and weighs 102 kg. He has curly grey and black hair, and occasionally wears eyeglasses.

Anyone wishing to provide information anonymously and confidentially can do so by contacting Info-Crime Montreal at 514-393-1133 or by using the reporting form available on their website.
