Quebec Liberal Party leadership candidate Pablo Rodriguez has a plan to revive Quebec’s economy

One of the leadership candidates for the Quebec Liberal Party, Pablo Rodriguez, is sharing his plan for how he believes he can revive Quebec’s economy, currently deeply affected and under attack by U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs.

Rodriguez told LaPresse that he would focus on the most pressing issues currently facing Quebec: low productivity, low innovation and an economy addicted to U.S. exports.

Rodriguez says he would implement a hiring freeze on the public service workforce, fight to increase productivity and recognize the qualifications of workers in other provinces.

He also wants to prioritize breaking down trade barriers between provinces to lower production and construction costs, by allowing the recognition of qualifications. He also wants Canada to start thinking more like the European Union, harmonizing certain standards.

Rodriguez’s economic plan also proposes to improve productivity and innovation in Quebec by supporting the use of artificial intelligence and redirecting tax credits to encourage business investment in robotization, automation and innovation.
