Cyclist killed after struck by bus in Montreal’s Hochelaga-Maisonneuve

An 89-year-old man has died after being struck by a bus in Montreal’s Hochelaga-Maisonneuve on Monday morning.
Montreal police (SPVM) said that the incident occurred at the corner of Pie IX Blvd. and Lafontaine St. at around 11:30 a.m.
According to preliminary information available to investigators, the SPVM said that the cyclist may have crossed the intersection when the light was red.
They added that the bus driver, a 49-year-old man, suffered a nervous shock.
Montreal police confirmed the man died from his injuries Monday evening after he had initially been in critical condition.
An investigation is ongoing.
The SPVM added that this was the fourth fatal collision of the year on Montreal roads.
