Longueuil police investigate suspicious death of 70-year-old woman

Longueuil Police (SPAL) are investigating the death of a woman in her 70s, which is considered “suspicious.”

The SPAL explained Monday morning that the woman was found dead late Sunday morning in an apartment on Cuvillier Street West in Longueuil.

“The circumstances of the incident lead us to continue our investigations into certain elements related to this death, in order to determine its nature,” said Constable François Boucher, spokesperson for the Longueuil police force.

The SPAL did not disclose exactly what elements are of interest to it in this case.

Investigators and forensic identification technicians went to the scene to analyze it. The police also called upon the expertise of the Forensic Sciences and Legal Medicine Laboratory.

No arrests had been made in this case as of Monday morning.

SPAL is continuing its investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding this death.
