Activists spray paint Montreal Tesla dealership, two arrested

By The Canadian Press

Activists sprayed paint on the exterior of a Tesla dealership building in Montreal on Wednesday, amid growing incidents of attacks on property bearing the logo of Elon Musk’s electric car company.

On Wednesday morning, two activists sprayed pink paint on the entrance to a Tesla dealership in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough.

SPVM officers quickly arrested a young man and a young woman at the scene.

In a statement, the group Last Generation Canada claimed responsibility for the act of vandalism.

“We took action today because we can no longer bear to see profit take priority over life. Billionaires and the ultra-rich are destroying our future for their own gain,” reads a statement the group released to the media.

Last Generation “demands that Canada stand up to billionaire Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is destroying democracies and spreading climate denial.”

Vandalism against the electric vehicle manufacturer has increased since U.S. President Donald Trump took office and appointed Elon Musk, considered the world’s richest man, to oversee the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is cutting government spending.

In recent weeks in the United States, Tesla showrooms, vehicle fleets, charging stations, and privately owned cars have been targeted, and dozens of protests have taken place outside Tesla dealerships and factories across North America and Europe.
