Cyclist pinned under vehicle after collision in Montreal

A cyclist was trapped under a vehicle after a collision occurred in Montreal’s Ville-Marie borough on Thursday evening.

At around 5:50 p.m., Montreal Police (SPVM) were called to Sherbrooke Street East, at the intersection of Wurtele Street.

A 33-year-old cyclist was found trapped under an SUV — paramedics reportedly managed to free him, he was then transported to hospital. His life is not believed to be in danger.

The driver, a 32-year-old man, was not injured in the collision.

According to initial information, the SUV was traveling northbound on Wurtele Street. After making its stop, the man turned right, onto Sherbrooke Street East where the cyclist was struck while crossing the intersection.

An investigation is ongoing.
