Fifth murder of 2025
On March 14, shortly after midnight, a 911 call was received regarding an injured person near the intersection of Ontario and Saint-Germain streets, in the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough.
When police arrived on the scene, they located a victim, a 34-year-old man who was injured in the lower body by a sharp object and was rushed to a hospital, where he died during the night.
In the morning, the SPVM confirmed that the man had died as a result of his injuries.
This was the fifth murder of the year recorded on the Island of Montreal.
Despite the two arrests, the investigation continues.
