Man charged with 2nd-degree murder of Longueuil senior

A man was arrested Thursday in connection with the murder of a Longueuil senior earlier this month and officially charged on Friday.

Denise Brouillette, 79, was found dead in an apartment on Cuvillier Street West in Longueuil on March 16.

Longueuil Police (SPAL) had initially called the death “suspicious.”

Othmane Rafik, 28, was charged with second-degree murder in connection to the case.

He also face charges of breach of condition, theft under $5,000, vehicle theft, and possession of property obtained by crime.
