SPVM seek suspect in Rosemont stabbing of 50-year-old

A 50-year-old man is in hospital after being stabbed in the upper body following an argument that broke out in a Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie apartment overnight.

According to Montreal Police (SPVM), the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday on Bélanger Street near 20th Ave.

When officers arrived, they discovered the man with at least one stab wound to the upper body.

He was transported to hospital — the SPVM said doctors don’t fear for his life.

According to information obtained by police, the suspect fled the scene after the stabbing — and was still at large as of Tuesday morning.

The canine unit was called on site for investigation purposes, the SPVM said.

Adding that once the victim is able, he will meet with officers regarding the incident.

No arrests have been made so far. An investigation is ongoing.
