A fire that broke out in an abandoned commercial building in Pierrefonds-Roxboro Wednesday night is being investigated by Montreal police (SPVM) as a possible arson.
Over 90 firefighters were on the scene after the blaze began around 4 p.m. near Pierrefonds and St-Jean Blvds.
The SPVM says that the fire was considered under control by 7:40 p.m. and no injuries were reported.
The Montreal fire department requested the assistance of the SPVM as the case is believed to be criminal in nature.
“The investigation was transferred to the arson unite of the SPVM because a suspect vehicle was seen leaving the scene before the police arrived,” media relations officer, Véronique Dubuc told CityNews.
No arrests have been made so far, an investigation is ongoing.
