Gunfire in Montreal’s Lachine borough

Two men were shot early Sunday morning in Montreal’s Lachine borough.

Police responded around 5 a.m. to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Camille Street and St-Pierre Ave.

While no victims were found at the scene, two men—aged 28 and 44—were later located at a hospital with gunshot wounds to their lower bodies.

Their injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to the Montreal police (SPVM).

Investigators believe the 28-year-old man is connected to the incident. The involvement of the 44-year-old man is still under investigation.

A security perimeter has been established on Camille Street, where police discovered shell casings and bullet impacts.

The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle.

The SPVM has dispatched investigators and a canine unit to examine the circumstances and motives behind the shooting.
