There will be a complete closure of Highway 25 towards Montreal, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel, this weekend – May 2 to 5.
The highway to the South Shore will also be closed on Friday and Saturday nights.
These obstructions are necessary in order to transfer the two lanes towards Montreal into the renovated tunnel.

Starting at 5 a.m. on Monday, road users will be able to drive through the renovated structure.
As a reminder, the clear height in the tunnel has been reduced from 4.4 m to 4.3 m. This change, which came into effect Tuesday morning, is permanent.
Charron Island will be accessible again via Exit No. 1 – Charron Island in both directions. The ramp to access Montreal from Charron Island will be closed until the end of 2026. A detour route will be set up via the South Shore.
The Ministry invites users to be vigilant since the new configuration of the lanes will require a period of adaptation.
