Montreal Roses to make Quebec soccer history with first home match

The Montreal Roses are set to make Quebec soccer history on Saturday, May 3, when they play their first home match in the new Northern Super League.

The professional women’s team will take on CF Rapide d’Ottawa at Stade Boréale in Laval. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

Founded in 2024 by Isabèle Chevalier and Jean-François Crevier, the Roses represent Montreal in the six-team national league.

Family-friendly atmosphere before kickoff

Gates at Stade Boréale will open at noon, with a range of pre-game activities for fans of all ages.

The site will feature photo booths, a bracelet-making station in team colours, Teqball demonstrations, and other interactive games. The official merchandise store is located behind Section 101.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to avoid lines and enjoy the festivities.

National anthem with a local twist

Before the match begins, the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal will perform the national anthem alongside soprano Sophie Naubert, blending sport and culture in a uniquely local performance.

Billie du Page and Fredz headline halftime show

Halftime entertainment will feature performances by two of Quebec’s rising artists. Billie du Page, 20, is known for her breakout single Fake Friends and recently released an English-language album titled Not Your Princess. Her music blends catchy pop with bold, feminist themes.

She will be joined by rapper Fredz, who brings a lo-fi, introspective style. His latest album, Demain il fera beau, marks a new artistic direction following two years on tour with his previous project Astronaute.

Stade Boréale is located at 955 Bois-de-Boulogne Ave. in Laval.

Free shuttle service will run from Cartier metro station (platform 13) to the stadium starting at noon.

Paid parking is available on-site and must be reserved in advance via the Click and Park mobile app.

The venue is cashless, with card payments only. It is also a smoke-free environment.
