Hot, summer-like weather is expected across Montreal this week, with temperatures forecasted to reach 27°C today, and many urbanites were out enjoying the sun.
“Today, the weather’s really nice. That’s why I’m getting out of the house and going fishing,” said Larry Cochrane, in French, sitting beside the Lachine Canal with a fishing pole in hand.

“I think it’s the first summer day today, because yesterday it was cold and I still had a hoodie on,” said Montrealer Nicolas Giannesini, who was walking his dog beside the Lachine Canal on Tuesday.
“I think there’s a lot of people doing the same thing, just walking and doing bicycle,” Giannesini said.
“(It’s) nice because I see people so comfortable around the canal,” said Javad Fooladi, who was out for a walk with his pregnant wife on Tuesday. “I see the old men and women walking there. It’s wonderful for me.”

The forecast is mainly sunny on Tuesday with the UV index at 8 — or “very high” — according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
Tonight, clear skies with a low of 16°C.
Come Wednesday, Montreal will feel the heat once again with sunny skies and a high of 28°C — feeling more like 31°C with the humidex.

A mix of sun and cloud expected for the afternoon, slightly shading Montreal from the 8 UV index.
Cloudy in the evening with a low of 18°C.
A high of 26°C is in store for Thursday — with a mix of sun and cloud, and a low of 15°C at night.

Then, to end the work week, the weather agency is predicting that rain will trickle in — 60 per cent chance of showers on Friday with a high of 27°C.
The wet weather expected to continue into the long Victoria Day weekend.
Cloudy on Saturday with a high of 25°C.

A 60 per cent chance of showers for Sunday with a high 18°C.
Then the mercury expected to dip down to 17°C and a mix of sun and cloud on Monday.
“Finally I can see this sun in the sky,” said Montrealer Amireh Aligholi. “I really enjoy the weather and because this winter it was really hard and really cold.”
