Hot, hot, hot in Montreal today: daytime high nearing 30°C

It’s hot, hot, hot in Montreal today, and Montrealers and tourists alike were out enjoying the sun.
“I’m reading a book, the sun, perfect life,” said Montrealer Claude Ellefsen, seated in Phillips Square in downtown Montreal on Wednesday.

The city seeing mainly sunny skies on Wednesday with a high of 28°C — feeling more like 31°C with the humidex.
“(The) weather is beautiful today because after winters, summer always feels better, makes us feel alive,” said Shubham Singh, enjoying the sun in the square during his lunch break.

The taste of summer-like weather will continue on Thursday with a high of 26°C, but it’ll be mainly cloudy — then clear skies at night with a low of 14°C.
Nisha Mehta and Trusha Kadakia were spending their third day visiting Montreal on Wednesday, and both American tourists said they were enjoying the nice weather.
“This is so beautiful; it’s not too hot and not too cold. And most comfortable weather. So you can walk, you can enjoy everything,” said Kadakia, visiting from New Jersey, U.S.

“You see all the stimuli, attraction, people dressing, eating happy, walking around, doing all the activities,” added Mehta, who is from San Francisco, U.S.
To end the work week, the mercury is expected to keep soaring with a high of 28°C on Friday but it’ll be met with a 60 per cent chance of showers.
Wet weather is forecasted to continue for the Victoria Day long weekend.
Periods of rain on Saturday with a high of 26°C, then temperatures dipping on Sunday with 15°C and showers.
Come Monday, while many might have a day off, sunshine is expected with a high of 18°C.
“It feels like we’re in vacation right now in Montreal and we’re starting to feel the vibe of the city, you know, with all the festival and and everything that’s coming,” said Montrealer George Vanier. “Maybe I’m going to grab a drink at the terrace somewhere on St. Denis St.”
