Montreal non-profit raises over $10,000 for Park-Extension youth through annual golf tournament

Over 90 golfers braved the sweltering heat on Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day to tee off for a good cause, participating in Montreal’s Park-Extension Youth Organization (PEYO) annual golf tournament that raised more than $10,000 to support their youth activities.

The event, held at Club de Golf Piedmont featured breakfast, a great day on the green, a BBQ, raffles and more tee-rific moments.

The PEYO team expressed their gratitude to everyone who attended and donated.

“What a day,” said Jo-An Audrey Jette, PEYO’s Executive Director, and wife of the late Nick Skarmountzo.

The annual fundraiser, all in memory of Nick who dedicated his time for the next generation to flourish, having being part of PEYO for 27 years.

For over 50 years, PEYO has been helping young residents in Montreal’s Park-Extension — offering guidance through art, culture, and sport.

The golf tournament, a way the community can help too.

“Our annual golf tournament was a huge hit,” said Jette. “Sunny, sizzling, and full of fun!”

“Golfers came out to swing, laugh, and support a great cause,” she added. “A huge shoutout to our fantastic organizers—Rick, Renato, and Sotiri—for making it all happen, and to our generous sponsors and spirited golfers for bringing the energy.”

“We’re already looking forward to next year!”
