Fares for public transit in Montreal are going up on July 1.
Starting Tuesday, the new pricing for the Greater Montreal regional transit authority (ARTM) will go into effect.
The majority of transport tickets will be subject to an average price indexation of 3 per cent.
“The annual indexation of fares allows the ARTM and its partners to continue to offer reliable and affordable public transit services,” reads a press release.
The fare schedule update was announced in April, following the $258 million funding cut in the March 2025 provincial budget.

For Zone A, which is the island of Montreal, the price one- and two-trip tickets will remain $3.75.
Monthly passes for Zone A will increase from $100 to $104.50, while 10 trips will cost $34.25, instead of $33.25.
In Zones AB, which includes the island, Laval and Longueuil, a single trip will cost $5, up by 25 cents.
Prices vary due to student discounts, as well for those aged 65 and up.
A full breakdown of the new price list is available on the ARTM’s website.
Starting Saturday, commuters across the Montreal region should brace for delays as the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) will undergo a complete six-week shutdown until Aug. 17.
The ARTM has launched special bus tickets linked to the REM, and has withdrawn certain old exo, TRAM and TRAIN transport tickets.
