Posted July 6, 2025 12:52 pm.
A 70-year-old man died after being struck by a motorist in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, on the island of Montreal.
Montreal Police (SPVM) officers were called to the intersection of Kingsley and Davignon streets around 3:15 p.m.
The pedestrian was found unconscious by the police and was rushed to hospital where he was finally pronounced dead.
It appears the driver, a 53-year-old man, veered off the road and struck the pedestrian. SPVM investigators are still trying to understand the circumstances that led to the collision. Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor.
This is the 7th fatal collision involving a pedestrian in Montreal in 2025.
