The by-election in the riding of Arthabaska, in Centre-du-Québec, will take place Aug. 11.

The battle promises to be fierce between the leader of the Conservative Party of Quebec (PCQ), Éric Duhaime, and former Radio-Canada host Alex Boissonneault, who is running for the Parti Québécois (PQ).

The Arthabaska riding has been held by the Coalition Avenir Québec since 2012.
