Multiple road closures for Montreal this weekend

Mobility Montréal advises road users that major obstructions are expected over the weekend.

HIGHWAY 20 / JEAN-LESAGE (Beloeil sector)

Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.

  • In Beloeil, on the A-20 East, partial closure of 1 lane out of 2 at exit 112 (R-223, Beloeil, Richelieu Street, St-Marc-sur-Richelieu).

Note: Congestion to be expected in the direction of Quebec City. Plan your trips.
At night, traffic will be in the opposite direction on the westbound carriageway (1 lane in each direction). On the A-20 East, the accesses and exits between Saint-Jean-Baptiste Street in Beloeil and the R-133 / Chemin des Patriotes in Mont-Saint-Hilaire will be closed by default.

Friday 10 p.m. to Saturday 7 a.m.

  • In Beloeil, on the A-20 East, complete closure of exit 112 (R-223, Beloeil, Richelieu Street, St-Marc-sur-Richelieu).

Detour: U-turn at exit 113 (R-133, ch. des Patriotes, Mont-Saint-Hilaire).

Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • In Beloeil, on Highway 20 East, access from Serge-Pépin Street is closed.

Detour: eastbound, via R-223 south, rue Brunelle, R-116 east and Grande Allée. Westbound, via boul. Yvon-L’Heureux, rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste and follow detour eastbound.

HIGHWAY 25 / LOUIS-HIPPOLYTE-LA FONTAINE TUNNEL

NORTH DIRECTION

 Friday 11 p.m. to Saturday 8 a.m. Saturday 11 p.m. to Sunday 9 a.m.

  • Complete closure of the tunnel between exit 90 (R-132) on the A-20 west in Longueuil and the Hochelaga Street access in Montreal

Detour: via Hwy. 132 West, exit 82 / Jacques-Cartier Bridge, downtown exit towards De Lorimier Avenue South and Notre-Dame Street. Trucks, via Pie-IX Boulevard and Sherbrooke Street.

Default: 30 minutes before

    • The access ramps to the R-132 east and west (exits 89-N).
      Detour eastbound: U-turn at exit 137 (De Montarville Boulevard).
    • Access from rue de l’Île-Charron.
      Detour: via A-25 south and R-132 west.
    • Channeling of the access to Île Charron from the Marie-Victorin Boulevard accesses to the A-25 north.

Direction SOUTH

Friday 11 p.m. to Saturday 8 a.m.
Saturday 11 p.m. to Sunday 9 a.m.

  • Complete closure of the tunnel between Exit 5 (Sherbrooke Street) in Montreal and the R-132 in Longueuil

Detour: via Dickson Street South and Notre-Dame Avenue and Papineau Avenue / Jacques Cartier Bridge. For trucks (+4.25 m), via Dickson Street North and Hochelaga Street, Assomption Boulevard, Sherbrooke Street and Pie-IX Boulevard South.

By default: 30 minutes before, the entrances to Sherbrooke, Tellier and des Futaille streets.

Souligny Avenue: Closure of the avenue eastbound, between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand streets. Detour: via Hochelaga Street.

REMINDER: The clear height in the tunnel is now 4.3 metres, but it is still recommended to provide a minimum safety margin of 10 cm. Before you hit the road, check the height of your load.

Highway 30  Serge Marcil Bridge

  • On Highway 30 East, on the Serge-Marcil Bridge between Salaberry-de-Valleyfield and Les Cèdres, partial closure of 1 lane out of 2, Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Highway 40  Félix-Leclerc (Terrebonne and Charlemagne sector)

  • In Terrebonne and Charlemagne, on the A-40 west, from July 13 to the end of August, the A-40 (Félix-Leclerc) westbound will be completely closed. Traffic will be diverted to the opposite carriageway and five lanes will remain available. Slowdowns are to be expected.

    This configuration of the lanes is necessary as part of culvert replacement work and the redevelopment of Ruisseau de Feu. Read the press release.

REMINDER  Bonaventure Expressway

  • In Montreal, access to the Bonaventure Expressway toward downtown will be closed from the Pointe Nord of Nuns’ Island (Alexander-Graham-Bell intersection and Jacques-le Ber intersection) until the beginning of September.

Detour: on A-15 North, via exit 60 (Gaétan-Laberge Boulevard).

  • Peel Basin / Victoria Bridge level, closure of 1 lane out of 3 in each direction until December.
  • On the Clément bridge, traffic in the opposite direction – 1 lane in each direction – until December.

RÉSEAU EXPRESS MÉTROPOLITAIN – REM

  • Until August 17, 2025, the teams must carry out several works to allow the next commissioning of the network. During this period, the complete closure of the REM is necessary. Many travel options are available to users who need to travel between the South Shore and downtown Montreal.

  • In Montreal (Saint-Laurent district), complete closure of Sainte-Croix Avenue in both directions, between Côte-de-Liesse Road West and Dion Street, from Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.
  • In Montreal (Saint-Laurent district), on Côte-de-Liesse Road West, at Sainte-Croix Avenue, partial closure of 1 lane out of 2, from Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.
  • In Montreal (Saint-Laurent district), on Lucerne Road / Sainte-Croix Avenue, under the A-40, partial closure of 1 lane out of 2, from Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.

Côte-de-Liesse Road East

  • In Montreal, on Côte-de-Liesse Road East, upstream of Rockland Road, partial closure of 2 out of 3 lanes, until November 2025.

Default:

    • At the end of the A-15 south ramp for A-40 east, the spur to de l’Acadie Blvd. South.
    • The ramp leading from Côte-de-Liesse Road East to Boulevard de l’Acadie South.

René-Lévesque Boulevard in Montreal

  • In Montreal (Ville-Marie district), partial closure of 2 out of 4 lanes on René-Lévesque Boulevard westbound, between Wolfe and Atateken streets, from Saturday 7 a.m. to Sunday 7 p.m.
