Five-alarm fire in downtown Montreal

More than a hundred Montreal firefighters battled a five-alarm fire in a three-storey building downtown on Tuesday morning.

The department received a 911 call about the flames at 1:30 a.m. on Crescent Street near René-Lévesque Boulevard.

No injuries have been reported.

The incident was upgraded to a five-alarm fire shortly after at 4 a.m.

Fire fighters have controlled the blaze but ask people to avoid the area.
