Five suspects arrested after attempted kidnapping in Montérégie

Five suspects have been arrested in connection with an attempted kidnapping that took place in Mercier last week.
Late Monday, the Mercier police in Montérégie made the announcement on their Facebook page, stating that it was thanks to the public that the investigation led to the arrest of young individuals aged 17 or 18.
“Thanks to the dissemination of the public notice and the valuable cooperation of citizens, crucial information was obtained,” reads the police department’s Facebook post.
After meeting with investigators, the suspects were released on conditions, while the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions (DPCP) of Valleyfield will assess their cases.
