Suspected vehicle arson in Côte-des-Neiges

Three vehicles were heavily damaged in a possible arson attack late Thursday evening in Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough.

Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 11 p.m. about a car on fire on Mayrand Street, near de Sorel Street.

Elements suggesting arson were found at the scene. Police believe only one vehicle was deliberately targeted.

According to authorities, no injuries were reported and no buildings were damaged by the flames.

SPVM says that surveillance cameras in the area will be reviewed as part of the investigation.

The file has been transferred to the Montreal police arson squad.

No arrests have been made so far.

The investigation is ongoing.
