The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) announced on Tuesday morning that Gianpietro Tiberio and Pierry Philogène have been added to the list of Quebec’s most wanted fugitives.

“These two individuals have been actively sought since the major operation targeting organized crime carried out on June 12,” the SQ said in a news release.

According to the SQ, 38-year-old Philogène is wanted on an arrest warrant for first-degree murder.

“He is wanted in connection with the death of Charles-Olivier Boucher Savard, which occurred on Dec. 22, 2021, in Montreal,” they explained. “This investigation is being led by the Montreal Police Service (SPVM).”

As for 52-year-old Tiberio, the SQ explained that he is actively wanted for murder and attempted murder.

“He is suspected of involvement in the murder of Domenico Facchini and the attempted murder of Vito D’Orazio, both of which occurred in 2012 at the Domenica-In café, formerly located on Provencher Blvd. in Montreal,” they said.

“This case is also under the responsibility of the SPVM,” they added.

Police arrested nearly a dozen people alleged to be important members of Montreal’s Mafia and other gangs during the June 12 operation, including Leonardo Rizzuto, the son of the late crime boss Vito Rizzuto.

Rizzuto, 56, alleged head of the Italian mafia in Montreal, was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the 2011 death of Lorenzo Lopresti. Rizzuto and his alleged co-leader, Stefano Sollecito, were among 11 suspects arrested that day.

Police say prominent members of three crime factions in the province were targeted: the Italian mafia, Hells Angels and street gangs.

The SQ said that anyone with information that could help locate Tiberio or Philogène is asked to contact the SQ’s Criminal Information Center at 1-800-659-4264 or visit fugitifsquebec.com to report a case.

“All information will be treated confidentially,” police said.
